whats wrong with this?
Got this chain message from a friend. Usually when i get this type of message i would just delete it. But something stuck to me. At first glance we may think, we have to send this message to all or at least 15 of my friends (in less than 30 mins) cause I believe in God and I love Jesus. Nothing wrong with sharing to your friends so that they could know the love of Jesus right?
I paused for awhile thinking about this message and I had this internal alarm going off. How can sending this message make something good happen to my life or have the best day of my life tomorrow? I started to think of Bible verses that can help support this statement, but can't think of any. Its even promoting a belief that sending chain messages would help make our lives better. The Bible didn't even promise that Christians will not suffer or have no troubles anymore.
I don't want to sound critical but my friend had the best intentions sending me this message. I hope this person was not hurt when I replied back
...if you want to follow Jesus. we have to obey him and that does not mean we will always have a good day but God will definitely lead us to his purpose...
yes i deleted it, but i don't have a cold heart :)

Pistis
As i was studying the book of Mark, something struck me. The Bible records alot of times when Jesus uses miracles to heal people. What if someone was sick, he has faith but he didn't get healed. Does that mean the Jesus is not faithful? Or is Jesus power dependent on our faith? or is it the level of our faith is dependent on the miracle? Or is it dependent on the level of understanding of faith?
As I read the book of Mark, it stuck me why Jesus didn't want to perform miracles? I mean he did perform it but he didn't want a lot of people to know about it. If I were in advertising I'd highlight the miracles so that people will know who Jesus is. His Power. So back to my question is faith = healing?
If God is just limited to our faith to heal then he is not God at all. He has every sovereign right to do whatever He pleases.
I think we shoudl first ask the question is where is our faith rested upon? Is it on the miracle? the answer? Is it in the blessing? Or is it upon Jesus?
I realized that after following Christ for awhile, God doesn't give all our request to us. Don't get me wrong. When I was a young believer it seems that every prayer is met by an automatic answer. But now it seems that when i pray it takes awhile for it to happen. God is teaching me a lot about perseverance in prayer. He is testing me where I put my faith. If God gives me a no answer will I still follow Him? God is still teaching me a lot about faith.
Lord I do believe in You. Help me over come my unbelief.

Delete
Have you ever wondered why God didn't put a delete button for us? Sometimes you just want to forget some things. So you just search the time and date and press the magic button: delete. And "Poof!" you forget that it ever took place. We have to live with those memories or mistakes that just won't go away. I was just thinking about Paul, Moses, David, Peter and all the other guys at the Bible. These guys were just ordinary men and they make mistakes too. I wonder if Peter always gets to thinking back to the time when he denied Jesus. Or Paul when he was still persecuting the Christians and so on a so forth.
We're not computers. We can't make things go away. God has a purpose for making us not forget those memories good or bad. His purpose is for us to praise him in good and bad memories...

Its been awhile
/******/
I'd rather...
I'd rather love than hate
I'd rather serve than be served
I'd rather reach out my hand than push someone off
I'd rather have God go before me than me leading the way
I'd rather sing You praise than complain
I'd rather that You be beside me than run away from you.
I'd rather know that You are in control than know in advance what will happen
I'd rather forgive than be bitter.
I'd rather have Jesus...

I have this load taken off me after AZCOP camp, but God has given me this new burden... Why me? I know i should not complain but...

1st UECM Basketball League
Its finally here! The 1st UECM Basketball League. Its been under plan for sometime now. UECM formed its first formal Basketball team way back during the 1st FCCF Basketball tournament. It was a perfect record year, we went 0-9! Over the years Team UECM made it up to the placing. Last year UECM together with Gerizim Evangelical Church formed a team to join the PCIBL.
This year the sports committee headed by Kelvin Manumbas, Wyatt Tan and Deacon Ian Benson Tan set up the league with the purpose of using sports as a tool for evangelism and building up fellowship. Initially a four team league was planned but overwhelming registrants join the league made it to five teams. Five team captains and five assistants were assigned and a closed door draft day was set to pick the teams.
UECMBL will officially opens this Sunday March 22, 2009 1 PM at the UECM Basketball Gymnasium. Come and watch the opening games. Admission is free!

How to ruin your life by 40
Author: Steve Farrar
Finally got some time do some reading while travelling. Very good book, fairly easy to read. An eye opener. A book that must be read by our youths now. What if someone told "One out of ten Christian will finish the race?" Dont believe it? if your working now think back on your friends at High School who followed Christ with you. How many of them still do? I'm not saying the the statistics are exact but just think about it how come so many people claim to follow Christ but at the end they stray away and ruin their life before 40? Don't ask me for the answers! Thats why steve ferrar wrote this book. hahaha .... Ok spoiler guard your heart.
This book is available at out church library by this sunday cuz i have to return it by then :) ano kaya penalty if overdue? So get your library cards if you dont have it yet. Hey if you havent gone to the library its really nice. They have new books coming very soon. Take time to read, it will help you grow.

Palm
Good thing I backed up my data first. My special thanks to Palm support, for helping me restore my data. The messages weren't restored, but its ok wanted to clear it up anyways. Too bad all my library of forwarded jokes lost too. hehehe
I just realized i can't live without my Palm. 5 years ago I could have lived without it, now just the thought without it. My problem is Palm OS is phasing out, so I have to start thinking of a way of backing up my data or a new cell phone.
