A penny for your thought
I'm thinking of getting Asus EEE 1000H. I read the reviews ok naman. Do you guys have any suggestions or recommendations?
Main purpose: Mobility when out of town. internet. communication. upload programs for work. Still using my desktop
But the price around 24~25k, i feel kind of high. Waiting it out till early Jan before I decide, price might drop or free giveaways.
/******/
Have a problem with Cebu Pacific. I booked a flight paid using credit card. The flight got canceled. So i expect a refund. its been 6 months and wla pa rin! I called up and emailed. They say action is being done, but I still don't see the money. Hey anyone out there who has the same problem?
/******/
I was thinking of having a new direction with my CF Bible study group. As I was reading the Living by the book again (yes i started doing the report :P) I was thinking of them. Well fact #1 I won't be staying with them forever. #2 They got to learn to lead or else they'll be depending on someone else's chewed food. #3 Most of my members are mature and will be future leaders.
There was an analogy on the book about teaching people how to swim.
Method 1:
You can throw him into the water and see how he does.
Method 2:
Show him the basics: doggy paddle, breathing... etc Basically teach them how to swim.
I'm not saying i'm like Michael Phelps, but my point is they need to learn to handle the Bible on their own. They need to eat "solid food"
The problem I'm thinking. Its going to take commitment and effort on their part. Meeting 2 hours for a month ain't enough they got to read at home. Our progress is going to be slow, I mean the other groups are going at the rate of half a chapter per meeting. I will have to slow it down. Anyways I'll talk to them about it.
/*****/
Wow I got an answered prayer today. I was reading Psalms 17
Psalms 17: 6 I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer.
I was asking God a question and suddenly out of nowhere my friend gave me the answer. Yes I feel so relieved. Have you ever experienced sleepless nights? Ang sarap ng tulog ko now.

last problem. Paano kaya yung food by the tenor for this sunday party? Bad trip! If only I know how to cook, not just eat.

I flunked ABC
Guess what? I just learned that I flunked ABC (Adult Bible Study Class). The last time I failed it was thesis ( and I still hold a grudge on a certain person for that. jk :) ) I don't like to fail. Ironically I'm part of the teaching ministry too ;P and actually this was my 1st ABC class too.
Just to clarify I failed due to absences. i think i missed 4 times. I have to be honest 1 was because tinatamad ako. 1 due to AZCOP camp. the other 2 cuz a certain someone (you know who i'm talking about) needed a guitarist for Singspiration and well I'm not really sure it went well.
Anyways our teaching department head was gracious she told me I can still pass "Hermaneutics class" if I copy someone's note and make some sort of report. But me and my big mouth, I voluntereed to read Living by the Book again and make a report. What was I thinking? Now come to think about it copying someone else's notes is much easier, but only if I can find my notes again. Ok who borrowed my notes? Please give it back.
Living by the Book. Highly recommended. This book opened my eyes into learning how to interpret the Bible properly. Very easy to read but lots of homework. Trust me after this book, reading the Bible will be very exciting.

Ezra
Yes finished reading Ezra! I think I finished all of the Prophets. Finally. After putting it off all these years. When I thought about Ezra I was thinking boring yata to. But when I started reading ok pala. Share ko 4 Miracles that happened
Miracle #1: Going back to Israel
King Cyrus of Persia was just seating on his throne and suddenly a thought came up to him "Hey why don't I send back the Jews to Jerusalem and ask them to rebuild the Temple of God. We'll pay for the whole thing." King Cyrus was not a Jew. I don't know what he read the night before or what he thought of. But all of the sudden he makes this decision. I was thinking it was not a strategic move. What can he gain from this? Asking the Jews to go back he might as well start a rebellion in his kingdom. Well the Bible says it was God who moved him.
Now the Jewish people, imagine your a 3rd generation Jew living comfortably in the most modern city of that time and then your ask to move back to the land where you grandfather came. Never been there before. All you know that its the most backward place. Would you live in a place no electricity, no running water, no TV and no Internet? You know some people could die of boredom ;) Well God moved them to. Its a miracle God moved their hearts to do His will.
Miracle #2: Getting rid of the troublemakers
Well their building the temple, of course the Jews had enemies too. They tried infiltration, discouraged them, threatened them and even hired counselors or experts to ruin their plans. So they continued doing that until a new king arose King Darius. Remember Piatco when Erap was president the project was legal but when GMA came on board suddenly it was illegal. Well the enemies were wise, they knew new king means new policies. Ok so they wrote a letter saying that this project was illegal. So a TRO was issued. So Haggai and Zechariah wrote a letter to King Darius saying "Ok go back to your records see that this was decreed by King Darius." So they looked at the records and lo and behold it was there. You know King Darius could have said "So what? I'm the new king. New king, new rules". Maybe Darius was thinking, if Cyrus made this plan there must be a good reason for it. Anyways whatever the reason, one thing for sure God's hand was there. He moved Darius to help finish the Temple. The plans of the enemies backfired.
Miracle #3: God protecting them
New king again, King Artaxerxes. This time Ezra comes into the picture. The new king was moved by God to offer treasures and gifts back to the Jews. He like hands them a blank check and then tells them go back and make a offering to God. Alright?! Well not quite. Ezra had to bring all these treasures back to Jerusalem and it was a long and dangerous journey. Ezra could have asked for a security detail but he thought what would king Artaxerxes think. If your God is the real God, why can't he protect you? So they fast and prayed and they reached the Jerusalem safely. Miracle yes. I'm a type of person who likes to worry and when we were going to and from the Azcop camp. I was thinking, a thousand things could go wrong. But God's hand was there. Uy sayang for those who did not attend.
Miracle #4: God deals with their sin.
The Jews were back in their land and 1st thing they do intermarriage. Wait before you say anything, the main point here is that they married people who worshiped other Gods. That meant they would lead to worship other Gods that's what got them exiled the first place. No holds bar, he deals with their sin. as you can see on the list. Walang kaibigan or kamaganak. If you sin your on the list. Notice even some Levites were on the list. It really is a miralce when God opens the eyes of the people see their mistakes and turn back to God.
So go read Ezra, highly recommended. Right now I'm going to finish Psalms.

more things on my mind
Next year you might be contemplating to join a ministry and I just wanted to share this:
-Its an investment. We are investing our time, money, emotions, feelings and relationships. There are ups and downs.
-God will not short change you. You might think "lugi ako" when you serve God. For example, your stuck at choir practice while everyone is going to gimik or you want to spend time with your friends (or a certain someone) but you have a meeting. Sometimes people don't even appreciate what your doing. But you know what I realized it is more blessed to give than to receive. Like a farmer who plants its going to be hard, will require sweat and patience. But once you see the fruits of your labor. Grabe your heart will be filled with joy.
-I learned that if you want to break your pastor's heart, just turn away from the Lord. Thats the level of emotion and feelings we invest.
- We cannot change people, only God can. We think we can fix this person or that person but we can't. We are just the tool. Let God use us.
- You will be ministered too. Many times I was encouraged by the songs we practiced at choir or by the people i work with.
- You will grow. You will be forced to research on the Bible study materials. You have to read 2 hours of materials just for a 30min group Bible study. Just imagine the things you personally learned.
