Psalm 37:23-24 NLT
The Lord directs the steps of the godly.
He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble, they will never fall,
for the Lord holds them by the hand.
God delights in every detail of my life? He knows what i am thinking about. He knows my worries my desires. He knows when i do wrong.
God help me live a righteous life

Step up the plate
Guys we need to do something. There is a need. Not enough people to do it. I know everyone is busy. Work, relationships, career, ministry, dreams...
We need to equip ourselves to know the Bible. We need to protect against wrong teachings.
We need men of prayer.
We need men to guide younger men.
We need you!
Guys we need to step up the plate!
/*****/
I'm kind of rethinking about my ministry and gifts. I mean I'm not multi-talented. I have some gifts but i can't do all of it. Got to choose one that will make me more effective.
I'm praying now that that God will lead me to it. Back of my mind I'm thinking I don't want the extra load. Am I lazy?
You know what makes me happy: Making people feel God's love.
Not my will but yours be done.

O failures, O failures...
I woke up in the middle of the night and had this poetic streak. A friend told me to just start writing when i have the thought I might forget it in the morning. So I started to write this out...
O failures, O failures why do I think of thee
Thou makest me sad, thou makest me lack sleep
O failures, O failures what was I thinking?
They are shameful, they make me sick.
My God is not proud, my God I need forgiveness
If I could go back and make it right.
If I could go back and change what I've done.
O failures, O failures I know now why
It is a teacher to make me wise
It is a teacher to make me meek
Now give me strength to move on
Now give me wisdom to do what is right
I've been bothered lately by my mistakes and failures in the past. I prayed to God to help me deal with them.
The next morning I woke and talked to God and its going to be a different day today. Had this LSS: O Happy day by Tim Hughes. So I started work at 8am. One by one it did not start out the way I wanted it. I looked at my watch and by 930am I've realized that I've made 6 mistake already. Oh man my day was not going the way I wanted. What was going on? Happy day?! this is not a Happy day!
Then I realized God was teaching me something. I got these mistakes now what am i going to do about it?
1.)I can dwell on those mistakes all day and have a crappy day!
2.)Admit my mistakes and start to do something about it.
So I started to do #2. Tried to fix it one by one and by the end of the day everything went well :)
Had this thought: Abraham, Moses, Elijah, David, Paul... all these godly men made lots of mistakes in their past, I wonder if they ever thought about their mistakes how they dealt with them?
Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus..."
Have a Happy day!

1 John
I was reading 1 John and i started to notice something. John summarized his statements.
1 Jn 1:3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
1 Jn 2:5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
1 Jn 2:5b This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
1 Jn 3:10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.
1 Jn 3:11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
1 Jn 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
1 Jn 3:19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.
1 Jn 3:23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.
1 Jn 3:24b And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
1 Jn 4:2b This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.
1 Jn 4:9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
1 Jn 4:10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
1 Jn 4:13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.
1 Jn 4:17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.
1 Jn 4:21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
1 Jn 5:2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
1 Jn 5:11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
1 Jn 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

whats wrong with this?
kid asked Jesus... how much do u love me? .Jesus replied," I love you this much." and .he stretched his arms to the cross and died for us. .If you believe in God, you will send this to everyone on your list. .If you delete this, you will have a cold heart in 2009. .I treat you as a true friend. But if I don't get this back, .I get the hint. Send this to all people in your list within 30min .after u read this and something good will happen to you NOW. .This is not a fake...apparently...copy and paste this .to 15 people in the next 10mins and you WILL have the best day of your life .tomorrow
Got this chain message from a friend. Usually when i get this type of message i would just delete it. But something stuck to me. At first glance we may think, we have to send this message to all or at least 15 of my friends (in less than 30 mins) cause I believe in God and I love Jesus. Nothing wrong with sharing to your friends so that they could know the love of Jesus right?
I paused for awhile thinking about this message and I had this internal alarm going off. How can sending this message make something good happen to my life or have the best day of my life tomorrow? I started to think of Bible verses that can help support this statement, but can't think of any. Its even promoting a belief that sending chain messages would help make our lives better. The Bible didn't even promise that Christians will not suffer or have no troubles anymore.
I don't want to sound critical but my friend had the best intentions sending me this message. I hope this person was not hurt when I replied back
...if you want to follow Jesus. we have to obey him and that does not mean we will always have a good day but God will definitely lead us to his purpose...
yes i deleted it, but i don't have a cold heart :)

Pistis
Pistis the Greek work for faith. You know I thought I knew a lot about faith. Boy was i so wrong. After all these years of following Christ, He is still teaching me about faith. Everytime I am asked the definition of faith Heb 11 comes to mind.
As i was studying the book of Mark, something struck me. The Bible records alot of times when Jesus uses miracles to heal people. What if someone was sick, he has faith but he didn't get healed. Does that mean the Jesus is not faithful? Or is Jesus power dependent on our faith? or is it the level of our faith is dependent on the miracle? Or is it dependent on the level of understanding of faith?
As I read the book of Mark, it stuck me why Jesus didn't want to perform miracles? I mean he did perform it but he didn't want a lot of people to know about it. If I were in advertising I'd highlight the miracles so that people will know who Jesus is. His Power. So back to my question is faith = healing?
If God is just limited to our faith to heal then he is not God at all. He has every sovereign right to do whatever He pleases.
I think we shoudl first ask the question is where is our faith rested upon? Is it on the miracle? the answer? Is it in the blessing? Or is it upon Jesus?
I realized that after following Christ for awhile, God doesn't give all our request to us. Don't get me wrong. When I was a young believer it seems that every prayer is met by an automatic answer. But now it seems that when i pray it takes awhile for it to happen. God is teaching me a lot about perseverance in prayer. He is testing me where I put my faith. If God gives me a no answer will I still follow Him? God is still teaching me a lot about faith.
Lord I do believe in You. Help me over come my unbelief.

Delete
Have you ever wondered why God didn't put a delete button for us? Sometimes you just want to forget some things. So you just search the time and date and press the magic button: delete. And "Poof!" you forget that it ever took place. We have to live with those memories or mistakes that just won't go away. I was just thinking about Paul, Moses, David, Peter and all the other guys at the Bible. These guys were just ordinary men and they make mistakes too. I wonder if Peter always gets to thinking back to the time when he denied Jesus. Or Paul when he was still persecuting the Christians and so on a so forth.
We're not computers. We can't make things go away. God has a purpose for making us not forget those memories good or bad. His purpose is for us to praise him in good and bad memories...

I'd rather...
I'd rather love than hate
I'd rather serve than be served
I'd rather reach out my hand than push someone off
I'd rather have God go before me than me leading the way
I'd rather sing You praise than complain
I'd rather that You be beside me than run away from you.
I'd rather know that You are in control than know in advance what will happen
I'd rather forgive than be bitter.
I'd rather have Jesus...
